Gibson Victory MVX
£1299

Rare Collectible 1981 Gibson Victory MVX Electric Guitar in Candy Apple Red with Gibson branded hard case.

This guitar has been used, well played, and enjoyed, so consequently has some wear, scratches and dings as illustrated in the photos (if you want to see more photos please message me). The case is also a natural relic showing plenty of wear and tear. There is some buckle rash and other wear and tear on the guitar, including some wear on the first 3 frets (although all things considered the frets look pretty good to me). Consequently, this versatile and very honest guitar feels great and plays wonderfully. I've owned it for maybe 6 years having bought it as a collection piece rather than a player, so it's only been played at home by me on just a few occasions since I bought it.

If you are reading this, the chances are that you know the specification and history of these unusual, and rare 1980s Gibson guitars (quality materials and construction and very cool pickups).

Rare Collectible 1981 Gibson Victory MVX Electric Guitar in Candy Apple Red with Gibson branded hard case

Custom Shop TEV by Tom Anfield
£1250

Unique well-built, high spec, and versatile Custom Shop TEV Tele-style guitar expertly hand-crafted by respected luthier Tom Anfield.

The Tom Anfield Customshop TEV has a heavy one-piece swamp ash body, V-style maple neck, ebony fretboard, 2x Kent Armstrong humbucker pickups (8k alnico neck, 18k ceramic bridge), Ghost transduced saddles, volume controls for transducers and pickups, push pull pickup coil taps, 3 way pickup selector, 3-way mini switch for transducer/pickup selection, mono/stereo output switching for twin amp configuration.

The guitar is finished off with Sperzel locking machine heads, gold hardware and a nitrocellulose tobacco sunburst finish.

According to Tom it has a big sound, as a result of the bluesy neck, big double P90 treble, and a convincing acoustic sound. All the electronics are passive, which means no battery is needed.

The heavy but highly resonant swamp ash slab Tom used for the body was identified as having superb tonal qualities and the marriage of these various components has resulted in a unique and very special guitar.

There are a few small chips and dings in the body now, but overall this is an excellent instrument still maintained by Tom Anfield. It is in very good condition, and the original frets are like new.
